Blair is the ultimate klettergarten of Greater Vedauwoo.  The 'Earthborn Spirit' reigns supreme here.  Blair's seeming remoteness, extraordinary landforms, and incredible beauty is spellbinding.  Routes in Blair seem to always feel like first ascents, like no one has touched that particular rock.  Of course this is highly unlikely, but the uninhibited feel of the area will overtake you.  The church-like quietness of this place, the cries of falcons, and occasional sightings of larger quadripeds like deer, moose and bear will charge you up, and motivate you to a higher order of things, whether physical or mental.  This is a 'given' in Blair.

There is no exit specifically for Blair on I-80.  You must access Blair from either A.) exit 329 (as seen in Figure 1 above: Blair is indicated as C and D in this Figure.) or B.) the Happy Jack exit (#323) at the Summit/Lincoln Head statue nearer Laramie.  Then proceed to the underpass as indicated on Figure 1 above (approx. 2 miles from Exit # 329, 4 miles from #323) which leads immediately to Forest Road #705.  Take Road #705 for about 2.5 miles and find the Lower Blair picnic and parking area ("C" as seen in Figures 1 and detailed in Figure 2 - the 'lower blair parking lot' is seen in Figure 3.) .  This is a Use Fee area, so be prepared to fork up $5.00 per day or have a Season Pass.  Trails exit here for Blairs 1, 2, and 3 as well as Little Blair and associated minor crags as indicated on Figure 2.  One can hike up into the 5 Corners or Upper Blair from here, but aerobic conditioning should be on your agenda.  The much better alternative for Upper Blair is to proceed on along Road #705, make a sharp turn up Road #707 and continue about 1/2 mile, turning right on Road #707a.  Then, in about 300 yards, turn right again on the first road on the right ........ and access the Upper Blair parking area.
